We love making and playing with the waterfall!!
Messy cornflour goo is another favourite. Now Nelson is back at school, Django keeps me busy!
Hooray a milestone is reached. Django can now swing. Hooray for swinging!

Cool Colouring In
I just found this cool site with lots of free downloadable colouring in patterns. It is called Patterns for Colouring
(of course, what else would it be called?).

Pretty birds
Before I forget, I must remember that a week or so ago whilst enjoying a cup of tea and a read in the sun on the veranda one of our local, pretty little birds - a blue wren, landed on my foot.
Nelson and I made these blue birds out of paper mache.
We found this bower bird nest whilst on a walk. The boys often collect blue bits and pieces from it.
Another collage - this one a bird.
I like this embroidery. Might have to try to do something similar!
from penguin and fish
A cool song - "I like birds" by the Eels.
from Geninne's Art Blog, she draws and paints lots of pretty little birds.
I love these drawings of birds by Joel Henriques. And these....
There is a really good website called Birds in Backyards with lots of information, pictures and bird calls.

Things that would be cool to make with the kids
from Mini-Eco
from recycling at school
from Almost Unschoolers
I wonder if this would work with bamboo? Saw it here.
These are some ideas I want to remember. I especially like the pop stick river houses.

What's been going on....
A new bag is nearly finished....yet another tree.
During the rain we got into a bit of paper collage using old magazines inspired by this great book.
This is the huge Winter Solstice bonfire.
I didn't have my camera for the exciting lighting of the fire and the subsequent spark shower, but here it is after it had mellowed out.
On a cold and frosty morning.... We have only had a few frosts this year....too much rain!
Cold at night and in the morning but beautiful during the day!

A BIG day at home with django
First we made pumpkin scones.
Then it was golf ball & marble painting.
Look at the concentration!
Then we made a box cubby house.
It was so beautiful out on the deck in the lovely autumn sun.

Activities to inspire a reluctant artist
Masking tape painting - put lots of strips of masking tape over a painting board (paper will rip). Then cover the whole board with paint.
Wait for the paint to dry and then peel off the masking tape. Cool stripes!
Trace around a cup using a crayon then with water colours paint the circles and then paint the background. Django and I did this together because painting makes him "tired". (You do it mum, I'm tired!)
Bubble blowing painting - Django quite likes this one! Just mix paint and dish washing liquid. Blow bubbles and hold the paper over the bubbles.
